Besides providing our body with oxygen, energy and vitality, our breath is a brilliant tool to calm both body and nervous system. Our emotions and mental state affect our breathing — but it also works the other way around.
Just breathing more consciously often makes a real difference. And when we invite the breath with intention — adjusting tempo, rhythm or depth — the breath alone can already be deeply healing and calming, for both body and mind.
